The first Steam release of Warzone

File size and a low GPU need are revealed on the Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Steam page.

Update at 6:00 PM ET: Activision stated that players of Modern Warfare 2 on Steam already had Warzone 2.0 positioned as a part of that game’s update and should “look into” that.out for the Season 1 upgrade earlier than the launch on Wednesday.” Activision made this statement in a post to the Steam forums. This page has been amended to reflect that clarification.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has arrived on Steam and launched a pre-load option for the game just a few days before its premiere on November 16, but not without causing some confusion.

You should be free to click the preload option and begin to Get Warzone 2.0 on Steam if you don’t own Modern Warfare 2. Currently, the get is a manageable 23GB, but when Modern Warfare 2’s Season 01 update rolls out, that size may increase.

However, if you do possess Modern Warfare 2, be cautious because the preload comes from the game itself. I quickly realized that clicking “Pre-Load Game” just starts the game. Modern Warfare 2 takes you to the main menu without getting anything new. Although some players found this confusing, Activision followed up later today to clarify that Warzone 2.0 should already be preloaded if you have Modern Warfare 2 and updated.

It doesn’t matter if you own MW2 or not, you may expect the Season 01 update to release before Warzone 2.0 launches on Wednesday and require a new get.

It’s also significant. to note that the system requirements for Warzone 2.0 on Steam match those for Modern Warfare 2. This makes it less obvious how much space the unzipped get will occupy on the hard drive. 125GB is listed on the system requirements page, yet the Warzone preload is significantly less than that. The “Base Game” and Warzone together take up 17.4GB of get space on Battle.net.

If this all seems a little confusing, we may be in a better situation than our console-playing friends since it seems like finding the Warzone 2 preload for the PS5 or Xbox One is a bit of a hassle.

Activision tweets as well. that after preloading but “Before launch, you may be prompted to purchase Modern Warfare 2, which is not necessary to experience Warzone 2.0,” without revealing any information platform.

This is Warzone’s first appearance on Steam. Before Activision foresaw the takeover by Blizzard by Microsoft, the business returned to Steam. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Activision’s first game on the platform since 2019, was also created public. on Steam in October. Warzone had its PC debut on Battle.net in March 2020.

One more thing about Warzone on Steam: You can’t preload the game until you have the most recent lorry rates, which I had to do before trying.
