A terrifying first-look image for Halloween’s Evil Dead Rise
Warner Bros. gave fans of Sam Raimi’s cherished horror franchise a Halloween surprise by releasing the first image from Evil Dead Rise.
In the spirit of Halloween, Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the first look at the upcoming film, Evil Dead Rise, in the Evil Dead franchise. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, the creators of the franchise, serving as executive producers, with Rob Tapert serving as producer. Lee Cronin wrote and directed the movie.
With numerous teases from those involved, Evil Dead Rise has been creating a stir for a while, but today sees the debut of the film’s first image. There have been several revelations about the project’s plot and setting, despite the lack of information about it.
According to the official Evil Dead Rise synopsis, “in the fifth Evil Dead movie, a road-weary Beth makes an overdue visit to her elder sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a small L.A. apartment.” Below is the first picture from Evil Dead Rise. The sisters’ reunion is interrupted by the discovery of a secret book hidden deep within Ellie’s building, which unleashes flesh-eating demons and forces Beth to engage in a primordial struggle for survival while experiencing the most terrifying form of motherhood imaginable.
After the 2013 adaptation of the series, directed by Fede Alvarez, proved to be wildly successful and demonstrated that the series could continue without Ash Williams, the titular character from the Evil Dead, the fifth film in the series has been in various stages of production for quite some time (Bruce Campbell). After the success of Don’t Breathe, Alvarez has temporarily shelved preparations for the sequel he was initially slated to write for his reboot. For Evil Dead Rise, Raimi personally chose writer-director Lee Cronin, whose prior works include the short film Ghost Train and the 2019 horror movie The Hole in the Ground. Following the completion of filming, Cronin revealed that 6500 liters of artificial blood had been used, which means that horror fans may expect some fairly nasty Deadite attacks.
Alyssa Sutherland, who plays Ellie, Lily Sullivan, who plays Beth, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Mia Challis, who plays Jessica, Tai Wano, Jayden Daniels, and Billy Reynolds-McCarthy make up the cast of The Evil Dead Rise. According to Campbell, his time as Ash is up and he won’t be playing the character again in the upcoming movie.
Warner Bros. Pictures will release Evil Dead Rise, which was made by New Line Cinema and Ghost House Pictures. Pictures. After being initially slated as an HBO Max exclusive, Evil Dead Rise will now hit theatres in April 2023.
